Veteran actor, writer, director and producer Raavi Kondala Rao died of a cardiac arrest on Tuesday at a private hospital in Hyderabad, hospital sources said. Raavi Kondala Rao was 88. Raavi Kondala Rao had acted and was associated with over 600 south Indian movies, mainly in Telugu cinema.
Raavi Kondala Rao is survived by his son. Raavi Kondala Rao’s wife Radha Kumari Rao, also an actor with over 600 movies to her credit, died in 2012. Raavi Kondala Rao and his wife Radha Kumari Rao had co-acted in several movies.
Raavi Kondala Rao made his debut with Telugu movie Sobha in 1958 as an actor. Before venturing into movies, he worked as an editor, writer and columnist for English and Telugu dailies and weeklies.
Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu and actor-turned politician Pawan Kalyan were among those who condoled the death of the veteran film personality.
