Job Profile of IBPS Clerk
The job description of a Bank Clerk is not limited to a single type of duty like in accounting. As a Bank Clerk, your major roles and responsibilities will be the following.
- Banking Document Verification
- Manning Single Window Counter task time to time
- Issue Cash Receipts and ESI Stamps at Counters
- Attending to Government Treasury Work
- Pass Books updation of Account Holders
- A bank clerk also performs back-office works like a collection of receipts, maintenance of ledger, balance tally etc.
- The bank clerk is responsible for sanction or withdrawals, verifying cheques, issuing demand drafts (as per request) and other services to the customers.
- A bank clerk is also Holds the bank cash, bank keys, and other valuables in safe custody and others.
- The bank clerk is also responsible for market financial products of the bank such as deposits, loans, and schemes to visitors.

Eligibility Criteria of IBPS Clerk
There are a set of expected eligibility criteria that you should qualify to apply for IBPS Clerk Exam Recruitment.
A) Age Limit
- Minimum Age Limit : 20 years
- Maximum Age Limit : 28 years
Age Relaxation
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Physically Disabled: 10 years
- Physically Disabled + OBC: 13 years
- Physically Disabled + SC/ ST: 15 years
B) Educational Qualification
A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government of India. The candidate should have passed in English as one of the subjects at SSC/ HSC/ Intermediate/ Graduation level. Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination.

IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern
IBPS Clerk exam is conducted in 2 phases: Paper – 1 and Paper – 2.
Paper – 1 is an Objective Based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type Online Exam. Paper – 1 has 3 sections, containing 100 questions of 100 marks to be completed in time duration of 60 minutes.
Paper – 2 is also an Objective Based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type Online Exam. Paper – 2 has 4 sections, containing 190 questions of 200 marks and time allotted to complete this paper is 160 minutes.
IBPS Clerk Paper – 1/ Prelims
Paper – 1 is an Objective Based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type Online Exam. Paper – 1 is divided into 3 sections, General Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. General Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude contain 35 questions each and are of 35 marks and English Language contains 30 questions for 30 marks. Each section has a time – duration of 20 minutes.
